As a daily reader of Â鶹Сòòò½´«Ã½, I was more than a little surprised to have to read a cover story this past Friday that informs us of personal family details of the president of our University of South Carolina. Upon reading the article, I was even more stunned to learn that the president had contributed to the story by means of an email interview.
The recent statement by Â鶹Сòòò½´«Ã½ President Harris Pastides concerning safety issues at Five Points should give us pause for a number of reasons, and not so much because of its obvious lack of intellectual sophistication in concluding there are safety issues right after a very tragic incident has occurred.
The issue of faculty and administration pay in our University of South Carolina was reported by Â鶹Сòòò½´«Ã½ some months ago, but what was said at the meeting has not yet been revealed.
