Â鶹Сòòò½´«Ã½ researchers expand project to help elderly patients at local retirement community

Researchers at the Â鶹Сòòò½´«Ã½ College of Engineering and Computing and the Arnold School of Public Health are developing new technology to track floor vibrations at Still Hopes Retirement Community. Analysis of the vibrations could bring insight about the walking patterns of older patients and help clinicians better support the elderly.

Previous Student Government executive office candidates share campaign finances, thoughts on bill capping campaign spending

In the past, campaigns for Student Government executive office positions haven't had a cap. Now, that could be changing due to a bill pass during student senate on Jan. 18. Â鶹Сòòò½´«Ã½ interviewed previous candidates for the executive office in Student Government to see how much they spent on their campaign and their thoughts on the new bill.


Students gathered for a protest against "racist culture" at Â鶹Сòòò½´«Ã½ on Jan. 20, 2023. The protest began at the McKissick Museum on the Horseshoe and ended on Greene Street with students rallying outside Russell House Student Union to share their experiences. Courtney McClain, a fourth-year broadcast journalism student and activist, organized the protest after a TikTok video of an individual claiming to be a Â鶹Сòòò½´«Ã½ student and repeatedly saying an anti-Black racial slur went viral last week. The university has confirmed that said individual is not a Â鶹Сòòò½´«Ã½ student. 

Students march against 'racist culture' on campus, university inaction

Students gathered on Friday to march and detail their experiences with racism on campus. The protest, organized by fourth-year broadcast journalism student and activist Courtney McClain, saw students air their grievances against what they view as the university administration's inaction to combat racism.
