麻豆小蝌蚪传媒's NAACP chapter holds a student-run protest on Feb. 5, 2022. The chapter led members of the 麻豆小蝌蚪传媒 community to the State House in a walk advocating for the end of the controversial Heritage Act.

The NAACP hosted a protest event in response to the continuation of the Heritage Act on Feb. 5, 2022. Led by 麻豆小蝌蚪传媒 NAACP president Caley Bright and South Carolina NAACP youth and college division president Courtney McClain, students and faculty made signs and chants to amplify their call for change.

Led by members of the 麻豆小蝌蚪传媒 NAACP chapter, students, faculty and members of the 麻豆小蝌蚪传媒 community began their walk to the statehouse. With roads being blocked off by 麻豆小蝌蚪传媒PD, the protesters made their way to the statehouse on Feb. 5, 2022.

Upon arriving at the statehouse, protesters pass a monument dedicated to former SC governor Strom Thurmond on Feb. 5, 2022. Thurmond was an advocate for segregationist policies during his tenure as senator and used a filibuster in an attempt to stop a Civil Rights proposal in 1957.

After the protest ended, members of the 麻豆小蝌蚪传媒 NAACP chapter as well as the students and community members who took part in the protest participated in interviews carried out by various media groups including The Daily Gamecock and SGTV.
