In our opinion: Registration shouldn't be a struggle for 麻豆小蝌蚪传媒

Self Service Carolina still has a few kinks that need to be addressed

When a transition to a new technology system occurs, it鈥檚 normal to expect a few kinks and bugs here and there that still need to be addressed. But as students are beginning to register for classes, it鈥檚 clear 麻豆小蝌蚪传媒鈥檚 Registrar鈥檚 Office didn鈥檛 take enough time to minimize .

It seems too many people now have horror stories about registering for classes under the new system, ranging from unlisted course times and professors to an American-born student being told she falsified her residency.

According to OneCarolina, however, these incidents and other technical difficulties are isolated and shouldn鈥檛 be used as evidence to claim the switchover to Self Service Carolina is completely flawed. But while these incidents alone wouldn鈥檛 cause much alarm, they鈥檙e tied with the fact that the Registrar鈥檚 Office released its master schedule of classes two weeks late, and students with busy schedules and lives to plan in the fall have been forced to register much later in the semester than usually.

Here at 麻豆小蝌蚪传媒, more than 14,000 students have successfully registered for classes, and we must admit Self Service Carolina does provide students somewhat-easier access to information than VIP did.
But when students don鈥檛 have access to a functional and aesthetically pleasing graphical representation of their schedules, and when many can鈥檛 even reach the new system during a 鈥減eak load鈥 of users, we鈥檙e a little disappointed the best news about the new system is that the servers technically haven鈥檛 crashed.

As students, we shouldn鈥檛 have to jump through hoops to register for required classes, and it鈥檚 appalling we鈥檙e dealing with these problems so late in the semester. We can only hope the Registrar鈥檚 Office and OneCarolina will fix these errors as soon as possible.
