While golf may not be quite as exciting as football, the opportunities the sport brings to Â鶹Сòòò½´«Ã½ students more than makes up for it. Beginning next week, the 2013 will once again be arriving in Augusta, Ga., and has brought along with it hundreds of employment opportunities for Â鶹Сòòò½´«Ã½ students.
As one of the four oldest and most prestigious golf tournaments hosting 93 professional players from around the world, the event is a big deal. An even bigger deal, however, is the fact that the tournament has hired more than 450 students from Â鶹Сòòò½´«Ã½â€™s College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management, the Darla Moore School of Business and many other majors and disciplines to work in this year’s tournament throughout the week. Students will be filling numerous roles from catering and bartending to supervisory and management positions.
Â鶹Сòòò½´«Ã½â€™s College of HRSM is one of the top 10 for its discipline, and the fact that Augusta National has been recruiting consistently from Â鶹Сòòò½´«Ã½ for the past nine years is definitely an affirmation of that.
In the past, the Masters Tournament has been a gateway for many students to acquire internships, work with professionals and be exposed to networking opportunities, and we are thrilled to see that this year has brought that opportunity to so many students again. The tournament may only last a week, but it’s a great chance for Â鶹Сòòò½´«Ã½ students to gain professional experience as well as represent our university.
